L1 was founded by Stephen Wallace and David Stumpf
Stephen Wallace, Director & Senior Consultant
Stephen Wallace is co-founder and Senior Consultant for L1 associates Ltd and has specialist skills in advanced data networking and converged voice, video & data services.
After graduating in Information Systems and starting his career installing and supporting data networks for the NHS, Steve moved to BT Laboratories as an IP Integration Engineer working alongside some of the best individuals in the industry on some of the most advanced platforms. Responsibilities and achievements have included large-scale IP design, network strategy, supplier management and implementations of converged networks with the most notable success of managing the integration of the PSTN replacement network for BT Spain.
More recently, after founding L1 associates, Steve has been heavily involved in the strategy and design of enterprise Quality Of Service and IP Telephony solutions and with the definition & design of 3G video communication and media streaming solutions for a major 3G network provider.
David Stumpf, Director & Senior Consultant
Dave Stumpf is co-founder and Senior Consultant for L1 associates Ltd specialising in advanced voice networking and converged voice video & data services.
After graduating in Electrical & Electronic Engineering in 1990 Dave joined BT as an advanced voice network project manager for the definition and successful launch of the BT FeatureNet VPN & Centrex service. Dave then worked on design, planning & launch of BT’s overseas alliance partner networks, which in 1998 provided the opportunity to lead a team for the supplier selection, design and successful delivery of an IP Telephony PSTN replacement network in Spain.
Since then as a Director of L1 associates Dave has worked on many project management, supplier selection, design and strategy exercises for traditional and converged voice video & data networks. Recent groundbreaking infrastructure projects have included Video Telephony & Media Streaming solutions for 3rd Generation mobile networks.
